Hinata would probably end up getting no sleep if he were on his own because CREEPY SOUNDS, wakes up in the middle of the night WHERE AM I, etc etc
So being roomies would be nice!!
I'm sure Kage spent the first couple of nights staring off into the ceiling because OF ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN- and wasn't getting much sleep. And while he's less weirded out by random noises, he's not having a great time of it either.
awww! Hinata would be grumbling to himself and probably somehow end up upside down wherever he's sleeping and whisper (in a not really quiet voice) to ask if Kageyama was sleeping already
And Kage can't even get mad because it's not like Hinata yelled it. He'll grumble a little and answer "Obviously I'm not"

Queue Hinata flailing around a bit and kicking his legs up in the air like a kid because he's fidgety. "It's too weird. Being somewhere like this. It's not like home at all!"
And Kageyama just nods in the darkness, even if Hinata can't see it. "It's like training camp either." Because at least during training camp they knew when they were going home.
"I miss it. Training camp. Playing. Spiking. This is stupid!" He's whining, and he knows that's really not going to help or change anything but he can't help it. "What're we going to do?"
Internally Kageyama's whining about the exact same things, but since Hinata's already spoken the same sentiment, he's just quiet for a while. "I think so too." And then he just stares at the ceiling as if it's going to give him a useful answer, but of course it won't. "Why would I know? We both just got here."
He huffs a little to himself, but it's nice to at least have someone who understands. Not to mention someone he can trust and rely on, even if neither of them are the most capable when it comes to anything but volleyball. Hinata turns to peek over at Kageyama, silently, and then speaks up again. "We're... gonna find a way home though, right? Somehow?"
He doesn't notice Hinata's shifting. It's nice that they at least have each other, but he's not sure how far their trust goes outside the court. If it wasn't there before, it had to be now. "We're not going to stay here forever. There's no way. There has to be something that will get us back."
It's something Hinata's been thinking about, having had conversations with people who had teammates, friends, and even family here with them. Did Kageyama... not think of him as anything but a partner on the team? He can't ask that, not now, so he just idly watches where the other is. Those words are at least a comfort, and he's able to smile a little, one hand clutching the front of his own shirt. "Yeah. Y-Yeah, we're going to make it back. And play in the tournament. And win!"
Kageyama honestly has no idea how he's supposed to relate to the people on the team. He's reluctant to label any of those relationships because he doesn't want to presume closeness where there isn't any. But he thinks whatever he's got with Hinata is probably what friendship is supposed to be like. Until Hinata confirms it though, he'll just continue to call him his teammate. It's just easier that way. "Exactly. We'll be able to keep playing volleyball until the end."
Maybe eventually they'd come to a better understanding of what their relationship was like, but with what Ophiuchus was throwing into the mix it was getting a little more complicated already. "Of course, no doubt about that. I'm not giving up on being able to play again so you better not either! Even if it means... I have to... do things." His words get quieter and quieter near the end, and he'd probably hide behind a pillow if he had one in his grasp but alas.
Kageyama is reasonably sure that whatever their relationship was at home will probably change over the course of being here. "Idiot, I'm not going to give up on playing." Just the thought of giving up feels wrong, they'll go back to playing somehow. "... Right..." Those things are probably their best bet to getting out of here and getting stuff. But... he doesn't think either of them are really ready for that. At all. "How long do you think we can go without... doing anything?"
Hinata sticks his tongue out at the other, but he's still smiling to himself, because while he'd been sure of that it was even more reassuring to hear it come from Kageyama himself. Ah... He hadn't really given that too much thought. "Uh, I don't know. As long as we want? But I know if you don't do it you don't get stuff you want." He pales slightly, adding quickly in an almost panicked voice, "Do you think we'll get punished if we don't? L-Like with that sacrifice place?"
Thanks, Hinata. He didn't previously have that thought in his head. If the gods brought them here to... to have sex, then he doubts they're going to try and kill them. "... No? I think we just get sick. That's what I heard from people who've been here longer."
Well, that's a relief. Overreacting is kind of Hinata's thing sometimes (right, sometimes), and he's totally not a scaredy-cat but... It had come to mind and he'd needed to voice it! "If we just get sick then that's not that bad. We could hold out a while, I think." He doesn't know how sick they'll get but it can't be to really extreme extents. Right..?
"Oi, do you want to be sick forever? You won't be able to play like that." Kageyama is very slowly resigning himself to having sex eventually. Maybe the longer he waits the less awkward it'll be? He can only hope. Still, if it's for potentially getting a volleyball and the ability to play- he'd do it. He'll have to psych himself up for something like what the gods are asking, but eventually he could do it. He thinks anyway.
"Of course not! I hate getting sick!" He's a pain when he is, his sister has told him as much, and Hinata pouts to himself, cheeks growing rosy. "Are... Are you going to do it then?" It's a little weird, imagining Kageyama doing that, but no he's definitely not going down that road of thought because he does not want to be picturing him doing those kind of things oh god- He flips around to hide his face into the bed, making odd noises. Don't mind him. Nothing to see here.
Kageyama doesn't make odd noises, but he does bring up a hand to attempt to cover his blush. Never mind that it's dark enough they can only see each other's outlines. He's still attempting to build up the courage to think about doing such things. "I... If I have to, I'll do it."
Hinata mumbles into the bedding before realizing he probably can't be understood that way, so he turns his head, laying on his stomach now. "Did you find someone you'll want to... you know... with?" He doesn't want to lose to Kageyama, even in something like this, but it's more to do with the fact that it feels wrong to make Kageyama do all those things and try to find a way to get back home on his own. He has to help, that's what teammates and friends do.
There is another long span of silence, because he thought he made it pretty clear in the cenote? Apparently his version of being clear is not clear to Hinata at all. But it's still embarassing to say again. "I already said. You." He's incredibly glad they're having this conversation in the middle of the night.
Oh. Oh, so that's... Oh. Hinata's had, for whatever reason, thought that Kageyama had only wanted to kiss him and hug him maybe, because of the weird way the place had effected him, but that's certainly not true. His head feels a bit woozy, face heating up as he inevitably feels incredibly flustered. "Ah." Right, that's not a proper answer. Uhm. "I, uh, I guess the feelings you were having haven't changed?"
Honestly Kageyama wishes they would change. Wanting Hinata in... that way is weird and awkward and uncomfortable- for both of them, he thinks. "They're the same." And he's honestly sorry about it
Hinata falls silent for a while, which is unusual in itself, but he's thinking and trying to figure out his own thoughts and what to say. He can't imagine what Kageyama's going through with those feelings or whatever they are, but... "It's okay. That's just how it is." He pauses, taking another moment. "It sucks that this place is making you feel that way, because I'm probably the last person you want to be thinking about like that, but if we can't change it then there's no use worrying, right?"
He just lays there, uncomfortable. On one hand, at least it's somebody he knows, but on the other- it's Hinata? He doesn't really want to break whatever trust they have with each other. He doesn't want to say he's glad it's Hinata, but he also doesn't want to say Hinata's the worst person to be attracted to. "... You're not the last person." At least he gets along reasonably well with Hinata. "At least you're not Tsukishima."
He's a little surprised at that, that is, until he mentions Tsukishima, and then Hinata can't help the laugh that bubbles out of him. "That would be the worst! Absolutely the worst!" He falls quiet after his laugh dies out, and then digs around to find his pillow, tossing it across at where he can barely make out Kageyama's form. "Don't worry about it. It's weird but it's fine. Things are just like this, and if we have to do that stuff to play volleyball together again then we can't just give up." The truth is, there really isn't anything Kageyama could do to break the trust he has in him, except maybe refuse to toss or play with him, but that's something Hinata keeps to himself.
In the dark he smiles just a little, no reason to stifle it here. Looks like they've both decided that Tsukishima is The Actual Worst out of all the possible people they could have been stranded here with.
And then he gets hit by Hinata's pillow, which he's quick to throw back. It's hard to target with something as soft an squishy as this, but he'll manage to throw it at Hinata.
He's glad Hinata's resolve hasn't been affected, even with these weird circumstances. "... What about you? If you had to, I mean?"
Damn, he wishes he could have that much precision, because Kageyama's throw makes the pillow smack him right in the face and he yelps, startled. He hugs it to his chest afterward, not expecting the questions even though they're really not uncalled for. "Uhm. No one else we know is here, and everyone else are strangers still pretty much." Hinata's face heats up and he hides part of it with the pillow even though it can't be seen in the dark anyway. "Even if the others were here... It wouldn't be so bad with... you. I'm the closest with you, you know?" So it only makes sense, doesn't it? You're supposed to do romantic and intimate stuff with someone you're close to, aren't you?
If Kageyama's face wasn't red before, it's definitely red now. Hinata would choose him over everybody else on the team? That's something that gives him a strangely fuzzy feeling, should he even be happy about that? He has no idea. "So... if we had to, it'd probably be best to do that with each other."
He'd almost expected some kind of negative response to that, so it's a relief that Kageyama says that. It's not that he's thought about this before, because really he hadn't prior to coming to this strange world, but he's honest and it's true that if he had to pick someone it would be Kageyama. "Y-... Yeah. I guess so. That's fine, right?" Hinata isn't going to let it change anything between them in a bad way, but he can't help but worry a little that it might on the other side.
He's relieved the entire exchange. Neither of them were good liars, so whatever they said in this room were their honest thoughts. Even if they're both very new to thinking of each other like this, it's nice to know Hinata's also alright with him. "It's fine." There's a short pause before he goes one step further, "Then if we have to, let's do that." It seems like the simplest solution, and neither of them were completely unwilling.
It certainly is a relief. Hinata doesn't like when things get confusing or muddled up, because it's too hard to figure them out that way. It's better to get them out in the air honestly, like they're doing. Getting right to the point, Kageyama! "... Yeah." Only Hinata kind of takes that as probably meaning the wrong thing, voice almost coming out as a squeak when he adds, "R-Right now?"
"What?" The question comes out before he really thinks about it. Because what. Did he sound like he wanted to.. to do things to Hinata right now? He didn't, well he did, but he wasn't really ready to do what the gods wanted him to do just yet. "I meant when we started to get sick or something," it's only because it's the middle of the night that he doesn't yell it out.
"Okay. Okay, good." Hinata's overly relieved from that being cleared up, because he's really not ready at all himself, so he's glad the feeling seems to be mutual. "Yeah. That sounds... better." Er, was that the right thing to say? Doesn't matter! He rubs at his face with his palms, willing his flush to go away.
"It's fine." It's like he can hear Hinata being overly concerned about this. But they've gotten everything straightened out, and that's really what matters here. (Maybe not everything, but enough for right now.) Even if their conversation isn't exactly at the best part of the day. "Just... go to sleep."
The gratitude he feels for those words from Kageyama aren't voiced, but Hinata smiles to himself and settles down more comfortably where he is. Things feel a lot... better now, after talking them out. Still weird and embarrassing but... better. A yawn partially interrupts him as he speaks. "Mm, yeah. You too. We should go for a run in the morning."
If Kageyama was thinking about it, this is probably why they get along so well. They just tell each other when something's off and they reach some kind of conclusion quickly. "Wherever we're going, I'll beat you there." He can't help saying it, everything even slightly atheletic is a competition with Hinata.
It's so easy to be overcome by his competitiveness when Kageyama is involved. "You wish! I'll beat you this time." He sounds absolutely sure in this, as always, and he'd by lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to it. It would be nice to do something they do often at home. "Better get your beauty sleep or I'll wake up before you!"
"Tsk. I'd like to see you try." This is better. Having a race and bickering like this makes this place feel a little better. At least they had each other, and whatever happened this would stay the same. "I'll see you at the finish line."
And Kageyama just nods in the darkness, even if Hinata can't see it. "It's like training camp either." Because at least during training camp they knew when they were going home.
